“I know this girl's story. She was raised by elite government officials and attended the church's prestigious academy. She was surrounded by lots of kind adults without even facing an inconvenience. A naturally born rich girl, she isn't suited for martial arts. Her body is too weak and frail.”

Takamachi Vivio (高町ヴィヴィオ) is an artificial mage, professional martial artist[2] and the adopted daughter of Takamachi Nanoha and Fate T. Harlaown. She's the master of the intelligent device Sacred Heart, also known as Chris.[4]

Personality

Vivio is bright and cheerful girl[2] who despite her experiences retains the innocence of her youth.[4]

Background

Vivio was born in 0069 as an artificial clone of Olivie Sägebrecht created by Jail Scaglietti,[5] who intended to used her as a vessel for St. Kaiser's Cradle. In the midst of the JS incident, a six year old Vivio escaped Scaglietti and was discovered by the Mages of Riot Force 6.[6] After being taken in by the Church of St. Kaiser, she was adopted by Takamachi Nanoha and Fate T. Harlaown.[7]

After being kidnapped by Scaglietti's combat cyborgs,[8] Vivio was forced into her intended role as a vessel against her will.[9] Her mother led a mission to save her, concluding with Vivio being forced to fight her mother in a magic duel[10] concluding in her defeat and rescue.[11] As the JS Incident came to an end, Vivio began attending St. Hilde Magic Academy, managed by the church.[12]

In 0078, nine year old Vivio became an approved librarian at the Infinity Library,[13] allowing her to research the information contained there at her will. Through this she helped Subaru Nakajima during the Mariage Incident by providing information on Ixveria, the Flame Queen of Hades.[13] After befriending Ixveria, Vivio would often visit her at the church where she rested.[14] Shortly thereafter, Vivio began practicing Strike Arts together with Corona Timil under the tutoring of Nove Nakajima.[15][2]

At the age of ten in 0079, Vivio competed in her first martial arts tournament, the DSAA Intermiddle Championship.[16] She was defeated by Miura Rinaldi, who became her rival in Strike Arts from that point onward.[17] She also befriended Einhard Stratos, the descendant of Claus Ingvalt who had a special relationship with Olivie, Vivio's original.[18] Vivio would spar with Einhard and have mock battles with her, but wouldn't come out victorious until their fourth serious match.[19]

Early in the next year Vivio and her friends traveled to Lufen, the home world of her friend Rio Wesley.[20] There she underwent her toughest training to date at the hands of Rio's relatives and other Lufen fighters. Rio's grandfather tells Vivio that she has the potential to learn a rare skill known as the God Eye, allowing her to read an opponent so accurately she can dodge any attack within an inch of her life.[21] Back home on Midchilda, Vivio tells her mothers that she wishes to have a rematch with Miura and should she win, a rematch with her mother, Nanoha.[22]

Vivio and Miura's rematch went on for several rounds until the awakening of Ixveria filled Vivio with the strength to push herself to victory.[23] While fighting her mother, history soon started to repeat itself as Nanoha was able to use the same methods that had defeated Vivio four and a half years ago.[24] Vivio kept standing her ground and eventually gained the upper hand by forcing her mother into melee combat.[25] Both Nanoha and Vivio are downed, with Vivio rising back up to her feet before the countdown ended.[26]

The same summer, Vivio became a fighter of the newly founded Nakajima Gym. Her first major feat as a representative was fighting the previously undefeated Rinne Berlinetta at her second DSAA Intermiddle Championship and winning (by decision),[27] making her one of the Top 7th highest ranked fighters in the under-15 age class.[4] At the DSAA Winter Cup the same year Vivio has a second match with Rinne, this time defeating her with a knock out.[28] At the start of 0081, Vivio helps set-up a training match between Rinne and her childhood friend Fuuka Reventon.[29]

Barrier Jacket

Vivio's Barrier Jacket

Vivio uses power mode to change her body into an adult form, how she imagines she'll look around 18 years old.[4] Her barrier jacket is a jet-black body suit with blue decorative armor pieces on her boots and a protective harness beneath her chest. She wears an open short jacket over her bodysuit, decorated with light blue gems.[10]

Though her jacket was initially black when being under the control of Quattro, Vivio currently wears a white and blue jacket, the same colours as Nanoha.[30] She did put on her original black jacket one more time for her fight against Einhard Stratos in fall of 0079.[31] When transformed, Vivio's hair is tied up into a side pony-tail, mimicing her mother Nanoha, which she was unable to when younger.[32]
